Hi everyone!! First of all… meet the lovely Kristine. We had an absolutely AWESOME shoot, and I hope you enjoy her sneak peek as I am incredibly excited to post the rest from her session.
Second of all… I am booking for September seniors now!! If your yearbook is due in October and November, now is a GREAT time to get a consult scheduled.
Thanks so much and hope you’re having a great week!
This is Aly!! She is… fantastic to say the least. When her Mom told me that she shoots, I knew I had to do an extra session! We sat down, and built several concepts for her including the downtown pianos, and the badass theme at the shooting range. We did all sorts of crazy stuff, and had an absolute blast the entire way. To Aly’s family – I hope you enjoy this extended sneak peek and I can’t wait to show you the rest of the photos. To everyone else – I hope you love getting to see some behind the scenes at the shoots, and let me know if I should keep doing some video! Hope everyone is having an AWESOME Friday!!

Skylar and I had an AWESOME session, and I can’t wait to post the rest of her shoot! Besides the fact that she’s a million feet taller then me, she is a killer volleyball player!! Her Mom and seester joined us for the shoot and helped coordinate outfits (which btw, were just straight up awesome!) and they were so supportive of her. While the storms were menacing earlier in the day, we arrived to a beautiful evening which left us with great light and even better images!

August is basically filled up! We might be able to squeeze in one or two more sessions… it’s been such a ROCKING summer! Couple of sneak peeks from some upcoming shoots. On that note… yes, I am ridiculously behind on blogging. Thanks for being so patient! On a similar note, I’ll be out of the office for a couple days this week while I pick up my new car from Cali!! I will have my laptop and phone on me to keep in touch. Thanks everyone and see you this weekend!!

This industry is amazing. I love being a visual artist. I got to experience what some might call a little trip to the visual artist’s mechanic shop. We popped the hood, changed the fluids, and ‘refreshed’ my entire thinking on how I shoot. For the following shoot, I have spent a little while brainstorming concepts for this shoot. I researched locations, and outfits, and models, and assistants, and equipment, and inspiration to find SOMETHING that would let me excel as an artist and director for the day. With that being said… here are the results! 6.5 hours of shooting, 5 outfits/concepts, 3 locations. 2 assistants, and 1 awesome model. I hope you enjoy the diverse composition, expression, and lighting that this shoot featured. I’ve included a behind the scenes video so you can see how a few of the shots was compiled too. I hope you enjoy and leave me some comments on what you think. Thanks, much peace and love!
Equipment used (I get this question a LOT!):
Canon 40D
Canon 85mm f/1.2L
Canon 35mm f/1.4L
Canon 24mm f/3.5L TS-E
Canon 580EX
PocketWizard Plus II
Hoya S-HMC ND Filter
Westcott Modifier (Reflectors, Scrims, Softboxes, and Umbrellas)

Kara is my final rep, and she’s at Ponderosa! We battled a couple of snow days, but we finally caught a glimpse of the 60* weather we’ve been having. I sincerely love Colorado for how diverse the weather is year round. It’s frustrating and fabulous all at the same time. Kara is a ROCKSTAR. We had such a blast at our shoot, and I laughed so hard for 3 hours straight. I hope you enjoy Kara’s images as much as I do!!
We found a Pink Panther in a box on top of a trash can… who would throw something like this away?! He was the perfect prop.

Sarah’s shoot was awesome. We battled hail and rain for the afternoon, but they didn’t want a piece of us. We had some gorgeous overcast weather downtown for the shoot itself. She brought her acoustic stand-up bass and we decided to head into the heart of downtown Denver – 16th Street Mall – and take some stunning captures. So many people were intrigued by what was going on, we even had some onlookers taking pictures of us! I can’t wait to post the rest of her shoot!
